Today is not only Mother’s Day but it is also Gail’s Birthday! Sadly we weren’t able to share the day celebrating together, Clare would have loved a piece of cake with her Grandma Gail. Clare did send Gail a package earlier in the week, we hope that it brightened Gail’s day a bit. Maybe next year we’ll be able to celebrate together since Gail will be officially retired in just 25 short days.
We have been talking about a trip to Missouri; hopefully we’ll get to visit for a few days before the summer heat and humidity hit with full force. Jeff found that flying to Joplin doesn’t cost a small fortune and doesn’t involve three stops in all parts of the country, it looks like maybe we’ll be flying into Joplin Regional Airport sometime this summer, I wonder if they have a Starbucks?
Gail, we hope you had a very Happy Birthday and enjoyed your day and maybe even had a piece of cake.
Gail and Greg came out to meet Clare on April 23rd, I think it's safe to say it was love at first sight for everyone.
Clare was jaundice when she was born, Gail gladly sat in the sun holding Clare to help her bili levels for a few hours, anything for Clare.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Clare.
Clare made her first trip to Joplin in June, it was plenty hot outside, but thankfully everyone was more than happy to stay inside with Clare.
All 5 generations on one couch....
Oppps, sorry Gail!!
Gail and Greg came out in July to stay with Clare while I went back to work. They had a lot of fun napping and playing while Jeff and I were at work.
One great benefit of working in the schools are the long holiday weekends, Labor Day weekend was a perfect time for a visit.
We flew to Joplin for Clare's first Christmas. Gail always does an exceptional job decorating and creating the ultimate Holiday experience. Clare was spoiled, just a little.
Clare got a xylophone for Christmas; Gail gave it a whirl and showed us her skills playing 'Mary Had A Little Lamb'.
Another long weekend trip for President's Day and our annual Super Bowl Party.
We all went to Phoenix for a few days to cheer on the Rockies during Spring Break. It was nice to relax in the warmer weather for a few days.
Happy Birthday Grandma Gail!!!!
